Ranveer Singh Not Producing 'Shaktimaan'; Actor’s Team Clarifies He Is Busy With 'Dhurandhar' and 'Don 3'

Recent rumors suggesting that Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh would be producing and possibly starring in a reboot of the iconic superhero franchise Shaktimaan have been officially dismissed. The actor’s team has issued a clear statement denying his involvement in the project, emphasizing that Ranveer has not acquired the rights to the character and is not part of the production process in any capacity.

The speculation began when reports emerged of Ranveer Singh having a lengthy meeting with Mukesh Khanna, the original actor who portrayed Shaktimaan on television in the 1990s. Fans quickly jumped to conclusions, believing that the actor was either being considered for the lead role or taking steps to co-produce the highly anticipated film adaptation. However, this excitement was short-lived as Singh’s team clarified that his current schedule is fully packed with other major projects.

At present, Ranveer is deeply involved in the filming of Dhurandhar, an upcoming espionage thriller directed by Aditya Dhar. He is also gearing up to start work on Don 3, a major franchise installment that has already generated a lot of buzz. Given the scale and demand of these two films, it seems highly unlikely that Ranveer would be taking on additional responsibilities such as producing another major cinematic venture like Shaktimaan.

Mukesh Khanna also addressed the rumors in a statement. He confirmed that Ranveer Singh had indeed visited his office and showed enthusiasm for the iconic role. They reportedly had a two-hour conversation during which Ranveer expressed his admiration for the original series and interest in being involved in some way. However, Khanna was quick to point out that the final decisions regarding casting and production rest with the producers, and he has not approved anyone for the lead role yet. Interestingly, Khanna had also posted on social media about Ranveer’s visit but later deleted the post, which added to the confusion and speculation.

In the background, the Shaktimaan film project is reportedly facing its own set of challenges. Sony Pictures India, which holds the rights to the character, is said to be struggling with deal negotiations with streaming platforms. Some OTT platforms are reportedly hesitant to support the project if Ranveer Singh is cast, with suggestions of either casting a different actor, such as Ranbir Kapoor, or cutting the film’s proposed budget significantly.

These internal disagreements and logistical issues have cast uncertainty over the future of the Shaktimaan reboot. While the character remains beloved and the idea of a modern film adaptation is exciting to many, it appears that the project is still in development limbo with no confirmed cast or production timeline.

For now, Ranveer Singh is focused on delivering strong performances in his confirmed roles. His team’s clarification brings a temporary end to the swirling rumors, reiterating that he is not involved in Shaktimaan. Fans will have to wait for an official announcement from the actual producers to know who will don the iconic superhero costume next.
