Welcome back to The Celebrity Hour, where we bring you the hottest takes and spiciest tea from the heart of Bollywood!
If you thought the box office numbers game was just about selling tickets, think again. The original Gadar queen, Ameesha Patel, just dropped some major truth bombs about today’s “blockbusters,” and she is not holding back! The 100 Crore "Joke"
It all went down on X (formerly Twitter) during her latest interactive #AskAmy session. A fan brought up a very spicy observation, asking if it was right for actresses to celebrate hitting the Rs 100 crore mark when those numbers are heavily padded by "buy one get one free" ticket offers, Rs 99 super Tuesday deals, and massive corporate bookings. The fan boldly asked if it was fair for these stars to use PR machinery to paint themselves as "super successful."
Ameesha, never one to sugarcoat her words, completely agreed and set the internet on fire with her response.
"It's a joke if u cal ur self a hit star and celeberate a films success,, that too in 2026 by doing 100 cr at the box office with buy one get one free offers and 99 rs tickets and corporate bookings," the actress replied.
Ouch! But wait, there’s more. She wrapped up her fiery tweet with a massive reality check for the industry: "Stop being in denial 😝 its 2026 and not 2000.. people are way too smart now."
While Ameesha didn’t drop any specific names (we love a classy queen who lets the shoe fit whoever it belongs to!), her comments instantly sparked a massive debate across social media. Is the once-coveted Rs 100 crore club completely irrelevant now? With inflated ticket prices and corporate bulk-buying, Ameesha definitely thinks audiences are seeing right through the PR smoke and mirrors.
From Shade to Sweetness: The Preity Zinta Connection
But it wasn't all just industry shade during the #AskAmy session! Ameesha also proved why she remains a class act when another fan tried to stir up some nostalgia-fueled drama.
A user brought up the upcoming trailer for Batwara 1947, noting that Preity Zinta's character felt like a forced copy of Ameesha's unforgettable role as Sakina in Gadar. The fan insisted that no one could ever recreate the magic Ameesha and Sunny Deol brought to the screen.
Instead of taking the bait to drag a fellow actress, Ameesha responded with total grace, praising Preity's look. "Woh bhi bahut Khoobsurat hai bhai. Sakina wishes her the best," she wrote, ending with a sweet nod to her iconic co-star, "Tara ka dhyaan rakhna till he's not back to where he belongs."
We absolutely love a queen who can spill the tea on industry fakeness while still lifting up her peers!
What do you think about Ameesha’s bold statements? Is the 100 crore club a total joke in 2026? Sound off in the comments below and keep it locked to The Celebrity Hour for all your Bollywood gossip!
