Rani Mukerji Reveals Why Aditya Chopra Jokingly "Curses" Her Daily
Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji, known for her powerful performances and charming persona, recently shared a humorous yet heartfelt insight into her relationship with husband Aditya Chopra. In a candid conversation, Rani revealed that Aditya jokingly “curses” her every single day since their marriage — and the reason is bound to bring a smile.
A Reclusive Husband Thrust Into the Spotlight
Aditya Chopra, head of Yash Raj Films and one of Bollywood’s most private personalities, has always stayed away from the limelight. Unlike his superstar wife, Aditya rarely makes public appearances and has no presence on social media. However, things changed after his marriage to Rani in 2014.
Rani said with a laugh, “He tells me every day, ‘Because of you, my photos are all over the internet now.’” She explained that Aditya blames her star status for the fact that his once-guarded privacy is now harder to maintain. Despite the teasing, Rani noted that Aditya continues to be incredibly supportive in both their personal and professional lives.
A Supportive Partner in Every Way
Rani highlighted how Aditya has been a pillar of strength, especially after the birth of their daughter, Adira. During the early months of motherhood, Rani found herself fully immersed in caring for their child. It was Aditya who reminded her not to lose herself in the process.
“He encouraged me to go back to acting,” Rani said. “He told me, ‘You’re an actor, and people are waiting to see you on screen.’” This gentle push helped Rani return to work and balance her roles as a mother and a performer.
Love Expressed Through Banter
The couple's dynamic is full of playful teasing and affectionate exchanges. Rani admitted that she sometimes “curses and abuses” Aditya, but in a way that’s full of love. “In our family, if I curse somebody, that means I really love that person,” she said light-heartedly.
Their relationship is marked by mutual understanding and a sense of humor that keeps things lively at home. Despite their differing personalities — with Rani being more public and Aditya being fiercely private — they seem to complement each other perfectly.
Protecting Adira from the Limelight
Rani and Aditya are fiercely protective of their daughter, Adira. Since her birth, they’ve made a conscious decision to shield her from media attention. “I want Adira to grow up normally,” Rani explained. “Otherwise, you get unwanted and undeserved attention without having achieved anything.”
They rarely share photos of their daughter and avoid bringing her to public events, believing that children deserve a chance at a normal life away from the spotlight.
Shared Rituals and Upcoming Projects
Despite their busy schedules, the couple has a sweet weekly tradition — watching movies together every Friday. Whether in Mumbai or traveling, they make time for this shared ritual, often enjoying screenings at the Yash Raj Studios.
Professionally, Rani is set to return in Mardaani 3, releasing in 2026. Aditya Chopra continues to focus on major film projects under the YRF banner.
Together, they prove that love, laughter, and balance can thrive — even in the chaos of Bollywood.
