Housefull 5 Breaks Records – Surpasses 'Sky Force' Lifetime Collection in Just 4 Days

Akshay Kumar's latest comedy entertainer, Housefull 5, is off to a roaring start at the global box office. The fifth installment of the much-loved Housefull franchise has not only captivated audiences with its trademark humour and ensemble cast but has also made history by surpassing the lifetime worldwide collection of Kumar’s earlier film Sky Force — all within just four days of its release.

Released on June 6, 2025, Housefull 5 brought back the familiar elements that fans have loved throughout the series: chaos, confusion, mistaken identities, and laugh-out-loud moments. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the film features Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, and John Abraham in pivotal roles. With this power-packed cast and franchise appeal, the film had massive expectations to live up to — and it has done so spectacularly.

On Day 1, the film earned approximately ₹24 crore at the Indian box office. This strong opening was followed by even bigger numbers on Day 2 and Day 3, with Saturday collections rising to ₹31 crore and Sunday touching a whopping ₹35 crore. The weekend total came to around ₹90 crore net, setting the stage for a phenomenal first Monday.

What came as a surprise to many trade analysts was the film’s consistent momentum even on a working Monday — typically a slower day for most theatrical releases. Day 4 saw Housefull 5 collect around ₹14 crore, pushing its domestic net total to beyond ₹104 crore. This made it one of the fastest films to cross the ₹100 crore mark in 2025.

Not just in India, the film has been performing exceptionally well in international markets too. The overseas collections have been estimated at ₹40 crore, bringing the total global gross to around ₹160 crore by the end of Day 4. These numbers have already surpassed the worldwide lifetime earnings of Sky Force, which had grossed approximately ₹149 crore in its complete theatrical run.

What makes Housefull 5's success even more noteworthy is that it accomplished this feat within a long-standing franchise. With multiple films released in the series since 2010, keeping the humour fresh and the audience entertained was a major challenge. However, the makers struck the right balance of nostalgia and innovation, ensuring that both longtime fans and new viewers found something to enjoy.

The film’s success also signals a positive trend for comedy films in Bollywood, a genre that had seen a dip in recent years with the rise of action-packed and biographical dramas. Housefull 5 brings back the essence of light-hearted, family-friendly entertainment that appeals across age groups.

As the film enters its first full week, industry experts predict it will continue its strong run and possibly set new benchmarks for Bollywood comedies. With massive footfall in theatres and high repeat value, Housefull 5 is not just a commercial triumph but a cultural hit as well — proving once again that laughter, when done right, is timeless at the box office.
