Exclusive: Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor's Film 'Tu Yaa Main' to Commence Filming in June

Actors Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor are all set to begin shooting for their upcoming film titled Tu Yaa Main, a psychological thriller directed by Bejoy Nambiar. The much-anticipated project is expected to start filming in the second week of June 2025. The shooting schedule will be concentrated in and around Mumbai and is likely to wrap up by mid-July.

This marks the first time Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor will share the screen together. As part of the film's early promotion, a teaser video has already been shot, featuring both actors swimming in a serene lake—offering viewers an initial taste of the film’s mood and aesthetic. Ahead of filming, the lead pair has started script-reading sessions together to help develop chemistry and deepen their understanding of the story. These prep sessions are expected to continue through the end of May.

Adarsh Gourav, known for his powerful performances in critically acclaimed films like The White Tiger and Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, is undergoing physical training to prepare for his role in the film. Speaking about the new project, Gourav shared his excitement about stepping into unfamiliar territory.

“I’m truly thrilled to start working on this film. It’s a completely different genre from what I’ve done before, and that’s what drew me to the project,” he said. “Collaborating with Bejoy Nambiar, who has such a distinct cinematic voice, and sharing the screen with Shanaya Kapoor makes this even more special. I can’t wait for audiences to experience what we’re creating.”

On working with Shanaya, Gourav added, “She is super chill and fun to work with. We’ve only shot the teaser so far, but it has been a good experience.”

Shanaya Kapoor, daughter of actor Sanjay Kapoor, is making her debut in a lead role with Tu Yaa Main. Though she has been in the public eye due to her Bollywood lineage, this film will be her first substantial on-screen project. Her involvement in a Bejoy Nambiar film has generated considerable buzz, especially since the director is known for his edgy storytelling and atmospheric filmmaking.

Bejoy Nambiar, whose past work includes well-regarded films like Shaitan, Wazir, and Taish, is known for pushing boundaries in Indian cinema. With Tu Yaa Main, he is expected to explore the psychological thriller genre in his signature style—dark, layered, and emotionally intense.
