Baaghi 4 Review: An Action Circus That Fails to Land a Punch

The much-hyped Baaghi 4, starring Tiger Shroff, was marketed as a roller-coaster ride of raw action, thrilling stunts, and high-octane drama. What audiences got instead was a noisy, disjointed merrygoround that goes around in circles without ever delivering a knockout blow.

Tiger Shroff Saves What He Can

Let’s be honest—Tiger Shroff is the only reason this film isn’t a complete disaster. His extraordinary martial arts skills and daredevil stunts still impress. The man flips, kicks, and punches his way through impossible sequences with a physicality that few in Bollywood can match. For fans who come to see action and only action, Tiger delivers.

But here’s the problem—action alone can’t carry a two-and-a-half-hour movie. Beyond the kicks and punches, Baaghi 4 collapses under its own weight.

A Plot That Doesn’t Exist

The storyline is so weak, it practically doesn’t exist. The film jumps straight into violent confrontations without context, without rhythm, and without emotional stakes. Instead of a roller-coaster of twists and turns, the narrative becomes an exhausting loop of blood, screams, and explosions.

At times, the chaos becomes laughable. Sequences meant to be intense come across as unintentionally funny, leaving audiences wondering if they should cheer or cringe. Critics have called it “desperately bloody and hilariously bonkers”, and honestly, that sums it up perfectly.

Wasted Cast, Wooden Characters

The supporting cast is equally disappointing. Sanjay Dutt, roped in as the big villain, is reduced to shouting and growling through poorly written dialogues. His character lacks menace and quickly becomes caricature-like.

Harnaaz Sandhu, making her much-publicized Bollywood debut, certainly looks confident on screen. But the script lets her down—her double role is shallow, underdeveloped, and offers no emotional weight. Sonam Bajwa, another big name, is barely given any space to shine. It feels like the film was written only around Tiger’s action set-pieces, leaving everyone else stranded.

Censorship Cuts Add to the Damage

To make matters worse, the CBFC ordered 23 cuts in the film. Scenes featuring blood, obscene gestures, and even some dialogues were chopped. These edits not only watered down the intensity but also made the storytelling even more incoherent. Instead of elevating the narrative, the cuts left jarring gaps in already fragile storytelling.

Public Reaction: Divided but Frustrated

Audiences remain split. Action lovers are still cheering for Tiger’s jaw-dropping stunts, calling him India’s ultimate action star. But the majority are slamming the film for being all noise and no soul. Many walked out frustrated, labeling it the weakest entry in the franchise.
