Apoorva Mukhija Reveals Why She Finds Mumbai ‘Too Easy’ and Her Plans to Leave the City

In a recent interview, content creator and reality show contestant Apoorva Mukhija opened up about her relationship with Mumbai, the city often seen as the heart of India’s entertainment industry. Despite the opportunities and fame the city has brought her, Apoorva revealed that she finds Mumbai “too easy” to navigate, both professionally and socially. This surprising statement stems from her belief that the city's accessibility leaves little room for personal or professional growth. As a result, she is planning to leave the city soon in search of new challenges abroad.

Apoorva explained that the very conveniences Mumbai offers—networking, access to influencers and celebrities, and quick career moves—have made her feel stagnant. “If I want to meet a big director, or attend a big Diwali party, I just have to make fifteen calls and it happens,” she shared. While this level of accessibility might be a dream for many, for her, it has created an unexpected sense of limitation. Apoorva now feels the need to push herself out of her comfort zone, which is why she’s considering pursuing a master’s degree in fashion and/or management overseas.

Despite her growing popularity and the success of her recent ventures, including her appearance on The Traitors – India, Apoorva feels that fame doesn’t always bring fulfillment. She shared an incident where she saw herself on a billboard for the first time—an achievement that should’ve felt monumental. However, once the initial excitement faded, she was left with an underwhelming feeling. “It’s not that I didn’t like it, it’s just that I felt like, ‘Is this it?’” she reflected, revealing a deep sense of disillusionment with the celebrity culture that Mumbai thrives on.

Currently, Apoorva is one of the most talked-about contestants on The Traitors – India, a reality show hosted by Karan Johar. Known for her strategic gameplay, she made headlines for correctly identifying Raj Kundra as one of the traitors early on in the show. Her sharp instincts and confident presence have earned her a lot of attention, adding to her growing popularity across social media platforms.

Apart from her career reflections, Apoorva also touched upon some of the controversies she has faced. During the India’s Got Latent episode—an online satire she was involved in—she reportedly had to vacate her flat in Mumbai due to police visits and complaints from her building society. This incident contributed further to her growing discomfort with the city.

In conclusion, while Mumbai has been instrumental in building Apoorva Mukhija’s career, she now sees it as a place that no longer challenges her. With her sights set on international education and broader experiences, Apoorva is preparing to move on from the city that once symbolized her dreams. Her story is a reminder that success sometimes requires leaving comfort behind in pursuit of personal evolution.
