At the recently held Bollywood Hungama Style Icons Summit & Awards 2025, Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan opened up about his admiration for the performances of his contemporaries Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. In a candid and heartfelt segment, Aamir not only praised their work but also shared which of their roles remain his all-time favourites. The headline-making moment came when he also revealed that he hadn’t watched Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster hits Pathaan and Jawan yet.
Aamir Khan revealed that among Salman Khan’s many iconic performances, he particularly admires his portrayal in Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Dabangg. He appreciated the emotional depth and simplicity of Salman’s character in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, describing it as a touching and impactful role. He also enjoyed Salman’s bold and entertaining avatar in Dabangg, highlighting how the character of Chulbul Pandey became a pop culture sensation.
Shifting focus to Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir named Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai as two of his favourite SRK performances. According to him, Shah Rukh’s charm, romantic appeal, and emotional expression in those roles helped define an era of Bollywood and connected deeply with audiences across generations. These films, he said, are not just classics but emotional landmarks in Indian cinema.
However, when asked about SRK’s recent mega-hits Pathaan and Jawan, Aamir made a surprising confession — he hasn’t watched either of them yet. Despite their massive success and global fanfare, Aamir said that he just hasn’t found the time. He did, however, catch a viral post-credit scene from Pathaan featuring both Shah Rukh and Salman. He recalled how in that humorous sequence, the two actors discussed how they could not leave the country’s safety in the hands of the younger generation, and that they must continue to take the lead. Aamir found the exchange amusing, though he joked that it may have left younger actors feeling slightly sidelined. Still, he noted that with legends like SRK and Salman, such playful remarks are always taken in good spirit.
Adding to the excitement, Aamir also hinted at a potential collaboration between the three Khans — himself, Shah Rukh, and Salman — if the right script comes along. According to Aamir, all three superstars are open to working together and understand the massive appeal such a film would carry. It’s just a matter of finding a story strong enough to bring them together on screen.
On the work front, Aamir is preparing for the release of Sitaare Zameen Par, a sports-themed comedy-drama directed by R.S. Prasanna, co-starring Genelia Deshmukh. The film is scheduled for release on June 20. Meanwhile, Salman Khan is busy with an action-packed drama alongside Sanjay Dutt, and Shah Rukh Khan is currently filming King, a project directed by Siddharth Anand, which reportedly includes stars like Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, and Deepika Padukone.
This candid revelation from Aamir Khan has once again fueled fans’ hopes of witnessing the iconic trio share the screen, and until that dream project materializes, their mutual respect continues to entertain and inspire Bollywood lovers.
