Ranveer Singh Worked 22 Hours a Day During Simmba Shoot Ahead of Wedding, Says Co-Actor Vijay Patkar

Ranveer Singh may not have appeared as a solo lead since 2023’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, but his dedication and stardom continue to leave a mark. In a recent interview, Simmba co-actor Vijay Patkar opened up about Ranveer's intense work ethic, especially during the film’s shoot, which coincided with his wedding preparations.

Speaking to Filmymantra Media, Vijay shared, “Ranveer really respects his seniors on set. He quietly listens when someone older is talking—he never behaves like a star. That’s why his work stands out—he listens, absorbs, and delivers.”

Recalling the hectic schedule during Simmba, Vijay revealed that Ranveer barely slept as he juggled shooting and wedding planning. “He was sleeping only 2-3 hours a day. I once pointed out the bags under his eyes, and he said, ‘Kya karu? Shaadi kar raha hu. Abhi karna padega.’ (What do I do? I’m getting married. I have to do this.),” Vijay said.

He detailed Ranveer’s grueling schedule: “From 9 am to 6 pm, he shot intense fight scenes at the police station set. At 6 pm, he’d leave for the gym, return by 8:30 pm, and then shoot the ‘Aankh Maare’ song from 9 pm to 6 am. This went on for seven straight days. And despite everything, if he was even two minutes late, he’d apologise to everyone.”

Patkar added that the team was working on a tight timeline, as the film's release date had already been announced. “He kept saying, ‘It’s my wedding. I have to manage it.’ And he did, without a single complaint.”
