Nimrat Kaur Recalls Low Bank Balance, Facing Uncertainty Before The Lunchbox: ‘There Was a Lot of Fear’

Actress Nimrat Kaur, known for her powerful performances and graceful screen presence, recently shared a heartfelt account of her struggles before gaining recognition in the film industry. In a candid conversation, she revealed how she battled financial insecurity and emotional uncertainty during the early days of her career, especially before her breakthrough role in the acclaimed film The Lunchbox.

Before stepping into the limelight, Nimrat Kaur worked extensively in Mumbai’s theatre scene. The film, which also starred Irrfan Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, became a global success and was even screened at the Cannes Film Festival. This role became a turning point in her career, putting her on the map both in India and internationally.

After The Lunchbox, her career took a positive turn. She went on to star in major Bollywood films like Airlift and Dasvi. She also made a successful entry into international television, with roles in popular American series like Homeland, Wayward Pines, and Foundation. More recently, she appeared in Kull: The Legacy of the Raisingghs and Sky Force, and is now set to star in Section 84.
