Minu Bakshi on her film being screened at Cannes Film Festival 2025: 'It's incredible'

Minu Bakshi, a multifaceted Indian artist known for her work as an author, poet, and singer, has added another accolade to her illustrious career. Her documentary film, I Am, I Can, which chronicles her personal journey and the lives she has touched through her art, was recently screened at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.

The film was showcased in the Marché du Film section, a significant platform at Cannes dedicated to the global film industry. Expressing her elation, Bakshi shared a video on her Instagram account capturing the moment. In the video, she remarked, "It is incredible to be at Cannes. We can dream about these things... what better can I expect from life?"

Reflecting on this achievement, she added, "The next stop is screening the film at the major red carpet section. Yahaan se bas upar hi jaana hai (I have to rise further above). But even the sky has never been the limit for me."

The 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, held from May 13 to 24, 2025, saw a diverse array of films from around the world. The festival's main competition jury was presided over by French actress Juliette Binoche, with Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi's It Was Just an Accident winning the prestigious Palme d'Or.
