Malavika Mohanan Heads to Bangkok for ‘Sardar 2’ Song Shoot

Actress Malavika Mohanan is all set to fly to Bangkok in the first week of June 2025 for a special schedule of her upcoming Tamil action-thriller film Sardar 2. This leg of the shoot includes a visually grand song sequence as well as high-octane action scenes. With the film already 90% complete, this Bangkok schedule marks one of the final phases before wrapping up production.

Sardar 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2022 blockbuster Sardar, and is once again directed by P. S. Mithran. The film sees Karthi reprising his dual roles as Agent Chandra Bose “Sardar” and Agent Vijay Prakash, continuing the spy thriller’s gripping storyline. Malavika Mohanan joins the franchise as a new lead, and has described her role as “very different and challenging,” indicating that her character will add depth and excitement to the plot.

The Bangkok shoot will be particularly important for Malavika, who has been undergoing extensive training for her role. Her preparation has included strength training, endurance workouts, Pilates, and yoga, all aimed at helping her meet the physical demands of her character. This reflects her dedication to portraying a dynamic and action-oriented role in a film that is expected to be visually spectacular and emotionally engaging.

In addition to Malavika and Karthi, Sardar 2 boasts a strong ensemble cast. S. J. Suryah plays the main antagonist Muhammad Paari, also known as “Black Dagger.” Rajisha Vijayan returns to reprise her role from the first film, while Ashika Ranganath joins the cast in a new role.
