Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain Actor Saanand Verma Recalls Amitabh Bachchan Being Rude to Him

In a recent interview, popular television actor Saanand Verma, best known for his role as Anokhelal Saxena in the hit sitcom Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, shared an unexpected anecdote involving legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan. The actor recounted two contrasting encounters with Bachchan—one warm and memorable, and the other cold and disheartening.

Verma, who has garnered widespread acclaim for his comedic timing and quirky character on television, recalled his first meeting with Amitabh Bachchan during a shoot for a promotional segment of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). Describing the meeting as one of the most heartwarming experiences of his life, Verma said that Bachchan treated him with immense warmth and affection. “I felt like I was Abhishek Bachchan,” he reminisced. “He was behaving as if we had a bond from many lifetimes. We spoke for three hours.” Verma was deeply moved by the veteran actor’s humility and friendliness during this initial interaction.

However, the tone of their second meeting was drastically different. During an advertisement shoot, Verma approached Amitabh Bachchan after wrapping up the project. Filled with admiration, Verma expressed his gratitude, saying, “Sir, I consider myself very fortunate to be able to work with you twice.” To his surprise, Bachchan did not even look at him. Instead, he kept his gaze fixed on a painting and responded in a distant tone, “Bhagwan kare aapko tisbara mile” (May God give you a third chance also).

The unexpected coldness left Verma shocked and disappointed. He confessed that he did not expect such behavior from someone he had admired so deeply. The actor reflected that, although this second encounter hurt him, he still holds Amitabh Bachchan in high regard. “I still respect him a lot,” Verma added, emphasizing that everyone has their off days and it might have been just an unusual moment.

Saanand Verma’s revelation highlights the unpredictable and often surprising nature of the entertainment industry, where interactions with big stars may not always go as imagined. While celebrities are often idolized and placed on a pedestal, they, too, are human, prone to mood shifts and complexities. Verma’s candid account serves as a reminder that fame and admiration don’t always guarantee consistent personal warmth from public figures.

Despite the rude behavior he encountered, Verma did not let the incident diminish his admiration for Amitabh Bachchan’s body of work or his iconic status in Indian cinema. Instead, he chose to focus on the positive memories of their first meeting and the inspiration he draws from Bachchan’s illustrious career.

This honest reflection by Saanand Verma not only sheds light on the realities of working in showbiz but also reflects his maturity and humility as an artist. His story is a compelling reminder that, in the world of glitz and glamour, genuine human experiences are often layered with both admiration and occasional disappointment.
