It's been a whirlwind few weeks for the Batwara 1947 team. After unveiling the trailer in Mumbai, they took the promotional tour to Jaipur's iconic Raj Mandir theatre, followed by a stop in Patna that generated plenty of buzz online. Just a day before this news broke, Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, and director Rajkumar Santoshi met the press in Mumbai before heading off to Ahmedabad. Now, the plan is reportedly to close out the promotional run with a high-profile television appearance sharing the KBC hot seat with Bachchan himself.

What makes this particularly interesting is Aamir Khan's near-total absence from the promotional circuit so far. He's largely let Sunny Deol and the rest of the cast carry the media rounds. An industry insider explains the strategy simply: Aamir appears to have saved his big moment for last, and pairing him with Sunny Deol on Bachchan's show is being seen as a mutual win a promotional boost for the film right as it approaches release, and a starry launch for KBC's new season.
