Sun Pictures officially revealed the title Raaka in April 2026, describing the project as a cinematic vision “beyond limits.” The official title announcement prominently featured Allu Arjun, Atlee, and Deepika Padukone.

Atlee subsequently described Raaka as an idea he had carried for 18 years, indicating the project's unusually long creative gestation.

The film is being mounted on a large scale with significant science-fiction and fantasy elements, continuing Atlee's move towards increasingly ambitious spectacle following Jawan.

Deepika Padukone's participation should be treated differently from the current Smith speculation because she has already been incorporated into the film's official campaign.
