The Return of Bollywood's Favorite Boy Next Door: Imran Khan Wraps Netflix’s 'Adhure Hum Adhure Tum'

It’s been a long ten years for fans who spent the late 2000s and early 2010s falling in love with Jai Singh Rathore in Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na or rewatching Delhi Belly. Ever since Imran Khan quietly stepped back from the screen lights following 2015’s Katti Batti, speculation about his return felt like a warm, persistent wish list across social media.

Now, the wait is officially over.  

Imran Khan has confirmed that he has wrapped shooting for his long-anticipated comeback project: a mature Netflix romantic comedy titled "Adhure Hum Adhure Tum."  

A Grown-Up Rom-Com for a Grown-Up Actor

Unlike the typical Bollywood comeback strategy which often relies on high-octane action set pieces or aggressive franchise reboots Imran is returning with something far more grounded and personal.  

Speaking candidly in a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Imran shared his excitement about stepping back onto a film set:  

"I have just finished shooting a new movie. It’s my first movie in 10 years and we’re in post-production right now. It’s called Adhure Hum Adhure Tum. It’s for Netflix and is scheduled to come out end of this year. It’s a grown-up romantic comedy... age-appropriate to where I am now."  

The project reunites Imran with director Danish Aslam, who previously directed him in the 2010 hit Break Ke Baad. The new film functions almost like a natural spiritual continuation of that creative partnership shaped by fifteen years of real-life experiences. Both Imran and Aslam have navigated marriage, divorce, and parenthood in the intervening decade, bringing a far more nuanced perspective to modern relationships on screen.  

A Fresh Pairing & A Personal Journey

The film also features rising talent Gurfateh Pirzada (Class, Brahmāstra). Imran praised his young co-star, noting that the overall dynamic on set made this the exact right story to pull him out of retirement:  

"I’ve just worked with a really great young actor, Gurfateh Pirzada... Adhure Hum Adhure Tum is the one I simply had to make after 10 years."
