THE CELEBRITY HOUR
Get ready, Bollywood lovers, because the biggest cinematic event of the decade just threw a massive curveball into our movie-going calendars! If you’ve been eagerly counting down the days to Nitesh Tiwari’s magnum opus Ramayana, we’ve got some piping hot tea on the release strategy and it’s completely unprecedented. An Unconventional Strategy
In a recent interview with NDTV, producer Namit Malhotra finally lifted the veil on the highly anticipated release dates for Ramayana: Part 1, and let’s just say the international fans are getting a massive head start!
For the first time in recent memory, a major Indian blockbuster will hit overseas markets before it premieres on home soil. Malhotra confirmed that Ramayana will roll out in international theaters on Friday, November 6, 2026.
But what about the Indian audience, you ask? Well, we have to wait exactly two days longer. The film will officially light up Indian screens on Sunday, November 8, 2026 perfectly aligning with the auspicious festival of Diwali.
“The international distribution works from a Friday standpoint. So, that is on the 6th of November. But for India, currently, we are targeting a release on Diwali,” Malhotra explained.
A Cinematic Juggernaut
With Sony Pictures handling the overseas distribution and Dharma Productions bringing it to Indian theaters, this two-part epic is sparing no expense. In fact, T-Series has already scooped up the music rights for a staggering Rs. 75 crores! And honestly, with a soundtrack composed by the legendary A.R. Rahman and Oscar-winner Hans Zimmer, we’re already expecting literal goosebumps.
The casting alone is enough to break the internet. We are getting Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, KGF superstar Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey stepping in as Lakshman.
The Ultimate Diwali Gift
While it might sting a little that our international friends get to avoid spoilers two days ahead of us, dropping this cinematic marvel on the exact day of Diwali is a masterstroke.
And if that wasn't enough to get your heart racing, remember that this is just the beginning. Ramayana: Part 2 is already slated to conquer the box office on Diwali 2027. Stay tuned to The Celebrity Hour for further updates, reviews, and exclusive interviews from the world of entertainment!
