Aamir Khan in Race Reboot? New Report Signals Casting Reset, but Saif Ali Khan’s Exit Is Not Confirmed

Aamir Khan is reportedly in early discussions to headline a reboot of the Race franchise, alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Tiger Shroff. The claim points to a possible creative reset for producer Ramesh Taurani’s action-thriller series but it does not yet establish that Aamir has signed the film or formally replaced Saif Ali Khan.

The new information originated in an exclusive report by Pinkvilla on August 28. Citing an unnamed source close to the development, the publication reported that Aamir had responded positively to the concept and was participating in discussions around the screenplay. It added that Sidharth and Tiger had also heard the material and liked it.

No announcement confirming the three actors has been issued by Tips Films, Ramesh Taurani, or their representatives. Aamir has not publicly confirmed his involvement either.

For that reason, the project should not currently be described as an officially confirmed Aamir Khan film.

Is Aamir Khan replacing Saif Ali Khan in Race 4?

That conclusion goes beyond the available evidence.

The latest report describes the proposed film as a “Race Reboot” with a new ensemble, but it does not contain an on-record statement from Taurani saying that Saif has been removed or replaced. Nor has Tips Films publicly announced that its earlier discussions with Saif have ended.

The most accurate description is that Aamir is now reportedly being considered for a newly developed version of the franchise, while Saif’s current status remains unclear.

The same report linked Vijay Krishna Acharya to the director’s chair. Acharya previously directed Aamir in Dhoom 3 and Thugs of Hindostan. His involvement has not been formally announced by Tips Films.

If both men ultimately join the film, the collaboration would bring them back together after Thugs of Hindostan. That possibility is notable, but it is still premature to present Acharya as the confirmed director.

Sidharth Malhotra has been associated with the fourth Race film since at least 2025, when Tips officially acknowledged being in discussions with him. Tiger Shroff is a newer reported addition. Neither actor has confirmed signing the current version.
